Abstract:
I started teaching a full-fledged seminar on Sikhism at Colby College in 1986. Since then there have been major historical shifts. What does it mean to teach Sikhism in the western academy today? How do we promote the study of Sikhism in institutions that do not have endowed Sikh Chairs? How do we bring Sikhism into classes beyond religious studies?
