Abstract: Jains and Sikhs Walking Together:
Sikhism is a relatively new religion compared to Jainism, but the two religions share a number of values such as peace and living lives devoted to service and sacrifice. The two religions also share a lot of common history, with many of the Sikh Gurus coming from Bihar, a state in India that is considered to be the heart of the Jain movement. In my presentation I will talk about the many fascinating aspects of this shared history and what the academic study of their interdependence is vital.
