Abstract: Endangered Sikh Heritage: Glimpses of Some Rare Guru Granth Sahib Manuscripts
While the Sikh community has celebrated some important events of Sikh history with great enthusiasm, little attention has been paid towards conservation of rich tangible heritage. The National Institute of Panjab Studies has taken the initiative of creating awareness for conservation through two projects (i) Locating, photographing and cataloguing Relics of the Sikh Gurus (ii) Locating, digitizing and cataloguing rare Guru Granth Sahib Manuscripts. This presentation provides glimpses of some rare Guru Granth Sahib Manuscripts, which need urgent conservation.
