  The Guru Beckons

More than 4 million devotees are expected to congregate at Nanded to commemorate 300 years of the consecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib as the eternal Guru on 30th October 2008 and the heavenly journey of Sri Guru Gobind Singh on 3rd November 2008.

In view of the great religious and national significance of this event, extensive plans are underway for the redevelopment and beautification of the Gurudwara complex and its surroundings.

The entire Sachkand Sri Hazur Sahib complex is being redesigned on modern lines to accommodate at least 40,000 devotees in its parikrama. A marbled courtyard of about 2, 50,000 sq.ft. with tiles, lush greenery, parking spaces all around with rich plantation and good landscaping is being developed. The surrounding roads are also being widened and beautified.

To facilitate religious congregations, shabad kirtan, kathas and daily showcasing of religious films, the Guru Granth Sahib Bhavan is being constructed nearby which will accommodate nearly 4000 devotees indoors.

A world class museum with a rich tapestry of contents is also being developed to help connect visitors to the Guru emotionally with the help of visual story telling using dioramas, installations, displays, interactive and audio visual techniques. Gobind Bagh is being developed on 8 acres of land
